Issuing gift cards
Creating a card and letting it be used as a payment method.
Gift cards are managed on the Gift cards tab under Products. Each card has its own code and a balance.

Create a card
Enter the amount it should carry.

Give the code to the customer
They enter that code later at checkout.

Enable gift card as a payment method
Under Settings › Sales channels tick the channels where the card may be used.
At checkout the amount comes off the balance. If the card is not fully used, the remainder stays on it for next time.
For each card you can see the remaining balance and where it was used. Handy when a customer calls to ask how much is left.
