Setting up automated emails
Emails that go out by themselves when a customer does something — or nothing for a while.
On the Automation tab under Marketing you set rules that send an email by themselves. After that you no longer have to think about it.
A rule has a trigger, a waiting period and an email. For example: a customer has not ordered for 60 days, then send the “We miss you” email with a coupon code in it.
- 1
Create a rule
Choose what the rule responds to and after how many days.
- 2
Pick the email
Link a template you created under Email templates.
- 3
Switch the rule on
From then on it runs automatically.
Combine an automated email with a coupon that is only valid briefly. That gives the customer a reason to come back now rather than someday.
