Reservation settings

Table duration, time slots, party size and how far ahead guests can book.

The Settings button in the Agenda decides how booking works on your website. Start with the Enable reservations on the website switch — without it the form is not online.

The main settings

  • Default table duration — how long you block a table per reservation
  • Time slot interval — how often a guest can pick a time, for example every half hour
  • Max. party size — the largest group allowed to book online
  • Min. advance notice — how close to the time booking is still allowed
  • Max. days ahead to book — how far into the future the form is open
  • Buffer between reservations — extra time to clear the table

If you set the maximum party size higher than your largest table can take, Onavan warns you. Such bookings cannot be seated at a single table.

Confirmation and cancellation

You can require a guest to confirm by email before the reservation really counts. That cuts down on ghost bookings. You can also enter a cancellation policy which the guest sees when booking.

Fill in a notification email too. You then get a message for every new reservation, instead of having to keep refreshing the agenda.
